Privacy statement
CastScreen does not collect, store on a server, or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no telemetry. This website sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts.
What stays on your computer
- Your settings (chosen device, quality, licence key) are stored in
%APPDATA%\CastScreen\settings.json. - Your screen and system audio are captured, encoded and sent directly over your local network to the Chromecast you select. They are never sent to the internet and never stored.
- While you cast, the stream is served on a random, secret address, and only to the selected Chromecast.
When CastScreen contacts the internet
- Activating a purchased Pro key: the key and your computer name are sent once to the licence provider (Lemon Squeezy) to validate it.
- Check for updates (if shown): when you click it, the app asks GitHub for the latest release number.
Nothing else is sent.
Purchases
Payments are handled by our payment provider, which acts as the seller of record and receives your payment details and e-mail address. We do not see or store your card details.
